S'Ischiglia, the Pariglie
Description
A unique experience, where the passion for horses and the traditions of Sardinia meet in a breathtaking display of skill and courage.
In 2025, the 26th edition of the Pariglie Bonorvesi will take place on the 8th and 9th of March.
The event will be held along the Corso Umberto di Bonorva, transformed for the occasion into a stage where skilled riders, dressed in traditional Sardinian costumes, will perform breathtaking maneuvers on horseback.
The Pariglie S'Ischiglia consists of two main days:
- Saturday, March 8: The day begins with an inaugural parade of horses and riders, accompanied by flags, trumpets, and drums.
Subsequently, acrobatic races take place, during which the riders, organized into formations, perform spectacular figures and stunts, showcasing their dexterity and deep bond with the horses.
- Sunday, March 9: The Corsa a S'Ischiglia is held, a competition reminiscent of the Sartiglia of Oristano.
In this event, the riders must hit and ring a bell, referred to as "s'ischiglia" in Sardinian, attached to a ribbon. This challenge requires great precision and skill, and it is highly appreciated by both participants and spectators.
