Wonderful carpets made by hand with a vertical loom.
They are double-faced carpets, in which the weaving between the weft and warp creates a very dense fabric where the sides are exactly identical and opposite to each other.
The weaving technique, the patterns of the designs, and the color combinations have their origins in distant times, passed down from mother to daughter sometimes jealously guarding the secrets of the dyes obtained from the herbs and shrubs of the plateau.
The designs come from the rites and customs of times gone by, sometimes renewed with modern lines.
There are different types of Nule carpet: the traditional "flame"; the "modern", crafted with the same technique but with new designs and patterns; and the "composite", characterized by the harmonization of the other two.
The colors, either plant-based or with chemical dyes, are all of sure chromatic taste; prominently featured are the dirty white from euphorbia bark, the red from the roots of feruledda, the brown from laurel bark, the yellow from feruledda, and the black from rockrose and mastic.
