Description

Immersed in a lush valley in the territory of Mores, the church of San Giovanni traces its roots back to the 11th century. It is hypothesized that it was once the parish of the vanished village of S’Ena Frisca. In the 17th century, it underwent renovations that gave it its current appearance.

The architecture is simple and essential: the facade is surmounted by a bell gable, while on the sides there are large arcades. The interior is divided into five sections by round-arches on buttresses, while the arch leading to the apse is ogival in shape.

Close to the church there are areas designated to accommodate the pilgrims, testifying to the ancient tradition of hospitality of the place.

Every August 29, the church comes to life with the evocative country festival of San Giovanni, an event that attracts worshippers and visitors with history, faith, and nature.
