Description

From Esporlatu, visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of the Castello del Goceano and the fertile Tirso valley below. Only a few hundred meters separate the last houses of Esporlatu from Burgos, from which it was administratively separated in the second half of the 20th century.

The village is picturesque and well-kept. Rising above its rooftops is the bell tower of the San Gavino Martire parish church, built during the Middle Ages by Pisan craftsmen—possibly the same artisans who laid the foundations of the original settlement. Today, the historic center is enriched with murals depicting traditional costumes and community life.

The surrounding landscape is dotted with vineyards, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and olive groves, all nourished by natural springs that flow gently through the wooded hills toward the Tirso River.

Among the most intriguing nuragic sites is the megalithic complex atop the 960-meter-high Monte San Martino, alongside others like Erismanzanu, Su Tione, Fuschiosa, and Orrios.
